FOREHAND

What's wrong with this picture?

Forehand

When hitting topspin remember that the faster the racket head travels from low to high the better the topspin will be.  Many people think that swinging the racket faster will cause the ball to go long.  It will if the racket is traveling forward.  So, by hitting the ball from 5 o'clock to 11 o'clock for a right handed forehand and 7 o'clock to 1 o'clock for a left handed forehand you will be assured that the topspin will follow.  Also, be sure that your racket face is perpendicular to the ground as in my photo above.

You'll notice in the upper right hand corner of this page that the gentleman hitting the forehand is hitting with the wrong foot forward.  This reduces power and balance.
